PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AWARD WINNER 2009: |
 |
|
Swiss Post |
As the postal industry is one of the world’s largest employers, no wonder this award is as significant as it shows postal companies’ full commitment in setting the example in terms of people management practices. It was a really difficult choice between two of the entries which were very close. This year’s award testifies how the winner has been offering its long serving employees a proven motivation tool and a unique way of gaining nationally recognised vocational qualifications. With this programme employees, with traditional training, are able to benefit from a modern qualification as well as improving their professional perspectives both on the internal and external job markets.
We would like to commend Guernsey Post for their continued programme to revitalise people, however, the winner of the People Management award is Swiss Post.

Judging criteria
With postal authorities being amongst the world's largest employers, internal relationships and good people management significantly reflect on the competitive advantage and success of the company. They will also need to see effective policies to encourage fairness, diversity and the creation of a culture of customer focus, quality and improvement.
